On
her first excursion outside India, Sumitra performed
in the Indian Embassy in Katmandu.

1993 |
In
February, she was sponsored by the ICCR to perform
during the state celebrations of Shivaratri in
Mauritius.

1994 |
In
April-June, the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Foundation
sponsored her first tour of Europe, which covered
Holland, 15 cities in Germany, Switzerland, Hungary,
Slovenia and Croatia. She also touched upon Serbia,
Yugoslavia.
In
October-December, she went on a 2 month tour
on South-East Asia, again sponsored by the
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Foundation. On this trip
she covered Japan, the Philippines, Thailand,
Hong Kong and South Korea. In South Korea she
conducted lecture - demonstrations and performat
Jugalbandhis with Korean musicians, besides
her own concerts.

1996 |
In
March, Sumitra went on a tour of West Asia, covering
main cities in Turkey and 12 in Israel.

1997 |
Sponsored
by the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Foundation, she
went on her second tour of Europe, covering France,
Sweden, Yugoslavia, Holland, Germany, Croatia
and Slovenia.

1998 |
On
the invitation of the Mauritian Government, Sumitra
went to Fiji to perform for the national festivities
during Shivaratri.

1999 |
In
October, Sumitra went on her first North American
tour, sponsored by the Saraswati Mandiram of
Boston. After two concerts in Boston, she proceeded
to Canada, where she gave performance in Montreal
and Toronto. Her next stop was at Fairfield,
Iowa, where other than holding concerts, she
gave special lessons in Hindustani Classical
Vocal Music to students of the Maharishi University.
She also touched upon North Carolina, and San
Francisco. Before returning home, she recorded
for the Indian Archives in New York.

2000 |
In
June, Sumitra went tour of North America, funded
privately on the invitation of the Sarod maestro,
Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. She held three concerts
in San Francisco, and performed in Houston and
Chicago as well. As in the 1999 tour, she visited
Fairfield and North Caroline too.

| YEAR 2001 |
This
tour kicked off in March with two concerts
in Paris, from where Sumitra proceeded to North
America. She performed at the South
East Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau
and at MIT, among other venues in Boston. Sumitra
also held concerts in Fairfield and St. Louis,
besides fulfilling her commitments in North
Carolina. In Montreal, she performed for the
Prana Pratishtha of Lord Vekateshwara.

| YEAR 2002 |
The
26th day of June saw Sumitra performing at the
India House in Paris, which was followed by a
performances at Alencon on the 26th June.
These performances preceded two concert workshops
which were conducted at Strasbourg and Tullus
on 27th, 28th and 29th of
June, and 1st, 2nd and
3rd July respectively.
The
European tour then moved to Lvov, Ukraine where
Sumitra performed and gave workshops from 21st July
to 30th July. Her next performance
was for world peace assembly in hotel Mariton
near castle on 1st August.
After
a successful tour of Europe, Sumitra went to
Canada where she performed at Montreal on the
invitation of the Hindu temple on the occasion
of Maha Vishnu Yagna which began and ended with
her concerts. She also performed at the Sai temple
in Ottawa. The concluding concert and workshop
of her tour was at the Boston Art Centre, Capecord
from 25th August to 28th August.
